Start enjoying Virgin TV Anywhere

Soon you'll be using your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Android mobile or tablet to watch live shows, control your TV, record whole series and manage your TiVo box while you’re on the move. Just download the app and away you go.

Get the app for free from the App Store

Virgin TV Anywhere is available for iPad, iPhone, iPod touch and selected Android mobiles and tablets. Get the app for free by searching for 'Virgin TV Anywhere' on the Apple App Store or in Google Play, or just download the Apple app here or the Android app here.

Home or away?

The Virgin TV Anywhere app has two different modes. Away access mode lets you do lots of cool things, like watching live channels, browsing through the TV guide, recording shows or deleting shows from your box without interrupting your show, and you can use this mode at home or when you're out and about. Home mode does all that, and acts like a super advanced remote control for your TiVo box. Once you’ve signed in to the app, it will work out of there is a TiVo box connected to the same network, and will automatically switch to home mode, and enable all of the cool remote control features.

Want to use Home mode? First you must connect your TiVo box to your home network with an Ethernet cable if they are close to each other, or with a Powerline kit or smart TV wireless adapter if they are not in the same room.

If you're a brand new customer or a new TiVo customer, please note that you may need to wait up to 24 hours before you can log in to TV Anywhere.

Away mode – for watching shows, seeing what’s on and managing your TiVo box

Step 1

Open the app on your iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, Android mobile or tablet.

Step 2

Once you’ve signed in with your My Virgin Media username and password, the app will connect to TiVo boxes on your account.

Your username is the email address you used to register for My Virgin Media. Forgotten your details or don't know them?

If you have more than one TiVo box, you will see the last 4 characters of the TiVo Service Number of each TiVo box. Select which one you want to manage and the app will try to connect to that TiVo box across your wireless network. If it can’t connect, it will automatically go into Away mode.

If you have more than one TiVo box and want to make it easier to tell them apart, you can rename them.

Home mode – for using the app like a super remote control

Step 1

Make sure your TiVo box is connected to your Super Hub using an Ethernet cable, or if your TiVo box isn’t in the same room as your Super Hub, you can connect using a Powerline kit or smart TV wireless adapter.

Step 2

Now you need to check if your TiVo box is set to accept commands from your Virgin TV Anywhere app. By default, we do this for all TiVo boxes, but you may need to double-check if you’re a brand new customer.

Get your TiVo remote and go to Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network Remote Control, then choose Allow network-based remote controls. If asked for a PIN, the default is 1234.

Step 3

Make sure you have WiFi enabled on your device, and that you're connected to the same network as your TiVo box.

Start the app and sign in with your My Virgin Media username and password.

Your username is the email address you used to register for My Virgin Media. Forgotten your details or don't know them?

Step 4

Once you’ve signed in, the app will connect to TiVo boxes on your account. If you have more than one TiVo box, you will see the last 4 characters of the TiVo Service Number of each TiVo box, and you can select which one you want to manage

If you have more than one TiVo box and want to make it easier to tell them apart, you can rename them.

Step 5

The app will try to connect to that TiVo box across your wireless network. If it can’t connect, it will automatically go into Away mode. You can still use the app to watch live TV and manage your TiVo box.

Step 6

If the app successfully connects to your TiVo box, you will then be in Home mode and all of the remote control features will be available. Just tap the remote control icon, which should now no longer have a red ‘x’ on it, at the top right to see more.

If the app is in Away mode (for example, if you’ve had your device outside the home) and you want to use Home mode, you can simply tap the remote control icon, and the app will try to connect to that TiVo box again.

If you're still having issues, click on the Settings cog icon at the top left (or under More on an iPhone or iPod touch), and try signing out and signing back in again.

If you’re having any problems, read our help article on getting started.
