That’s right! Messages, pictures and videos sent through these applications on Virgin Mobile 4G plans will not count towards your monthly data allowance.Calling functions (voice or video) on these applications will continue to count towards your monthly data allowance.
Will any of my personal data be shared with WhatsApp or Facebook?
No, we don’t share any information with WhatsApp or Facebook. The only personal information shared with WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger is the information that you’ve agreed to share.
What’s covered by free messaging on WhatsApp and Messenger?
All messaging is free. This includes sending and receiving pictures, videos, audio files and any attachments. You can also use the group messaging functionality without eating into your data. Calling functions (voice or video) on these applications will continue to count towards your monthly data allowance.
Can I use WhatsApp and Messenger even if I’ve run out of data?
Sure! However, once your monthly data allowance has been reached and you continue to use data on your phone (including WhatsApp and Messenger), you will be charged £2 a day for unlimited data.
Is voice chat included?
No. When you make voice calls (including video calls) within the WhatsApp and Messenger applications you use your data allowance.
Are any other services free rated by Virgin Media?

Yes, all 4G customers including mobile broadband and data SIM customers have access to free messaging on WhatsApp and Messenger.
I’m upgrading from 3G to 4G. Will I get be able to send free messages on WhatsApp and Messenger straight away?
Yes, that's correct. Sending messages on WhatsApp and Messenger is free as soon as you move to a 4G plan from your old 3G plan and start using the service.
If I go abroad, will WhatsApp and Messenger use my data?
Yes, you will be charged as per the normal roaming charges when outside of the UK.
