    Your phone will be delivered to you free of charge the very next day (or Monday if it’s Saturday).
    You’ll only start paying for your new phone and tariff on the same date as your next bill is due, so you’ll never be paying for your old and new contract at the same time.

Freestyle Contracts are based on a 24 month Consumer Credit Agreement provided by Virgin Media Mobile Finance Limited and a 30 day rolling Pay Monthly Airtime Contract with Virgin Mobile Telecoms Limited. You must pay off your loan in full in order to upgrade your handset.

Cool flexible Freestyle Contracts

Our fab Freestyle Contracts are split into two parts, one for your phone and one for your airtime (minutes, texts and data). The ace part is that you still get the flexibility to switch your tariff up or down each month (so you’ll never be locked in to a tariff that’s not working for you) but now you can also upgrade your phone sooner than 24 months. How? Simply by paying off the remaining balance on your phone credit agreement, with no cancellation fees. Sweet.

What to do with your old phone

Why not give a friend a hand-me-down? We have 30-day SIM only contracts from £5 a month, or Pay As You Go SIMs, to give your old phone a new life.

Done with it altogether? Don’t chuck it. You could get some cash for it if it’s in good working order. Check out our Virgin Media Recycle service. We’ll even recycle your old phone free of charge if it’s faulty or you dropped it in a pint once…

How do I find out if I can upgrade?

Easy. You can upgrade if you’ve got a month left on your contract (we’ll text you don’t worry – unless you’ve asked us not to). And you can always log into Your Account to find out if you’re due an upgrade too.

When I’ve upgraded what happens next?

All the stuff you like, like your Virgin Mobile number and your billing date will stay the same. And you can get your new phone as soon as tomorrow but only start paying for it with your next bill. So you’ll never be paying for two phones at once!

Can I change my tariff at the same time as upgrading?

Don’t worry if you’ve chosen a different airtime tariff to your current one. You’ll get your new amounts of minutes, texts and data the next time your allowances are refreshed.

Can I upgrade early if I’m on Freestyle Contracts?

Yes. If you’re lucky enough to be on our Freestyle Contracts, you don’t have to wait to upgrade. All you have to do is pay off the full remaining balance on your phone credit agreement. Already done that? Upgrade today online!

If not, simply give us a call free on 789 from your Virgin Mobile or 0345 6000 789** from any other phone to order a new phone.

I’ve got a Pay As You Go SIM or phone, can I upgrade to a phone contract?

Yes! You’ll need to pass a credit check like all our Pay Monthly phone contract customers but you could get a phone and tariff from just £8.50 a month. Pretty cool compared to your average top up. All our phone tariffs come with unlimited texts as standard. And if you’re worried about getting the wrong tariff, we let you move up and down between them to get the right one.

I’ve got a SIM only, can I upgrade to a phone contract?

Yes! You’ll need to pass a credit check like all our Pay Monthly phone contract customers, but you could get a brand new smartphone to use with the same number and same billing date you’ve got today. And we’ll deliver it the next day. We’ve got phones with tariffs starting from just £8.50 a month. We bet that’s not that much more than what you’re paying for just a SIM!
